Real Wedding: Romantic Elegance by Rennard Photography

There are elegant weddings and then there are elegant weddings – weddings worthy of a royal, soirees that set the bar. Well brace yourself for some serious beauty, because this is one. elegant. wedding. Brought to us in image form by Rennard Photography, this Washington affair may just be the perfect blend of everything I love about weddings. The inspired design, the DIY details, the loads of gorgeous blooms and above all, the couple who didn’t let anything overshadow their love. It’s classic and timeless and yet warm, cozy and full of that laidback elegance we’ve grown to adore on Belle the Magazine and it’s a lesson in understated perfection, in infusing details that have personality with a punch, and in choosing touches that make an impression all while hosting a party your guest will be talking about for years.

From the Photographer.... " Chad and Melissa met at work during a training session. He had been assigned to help her learn a new tool that I was going to need to use as part of her job. There was an immediate connection between the two of them. After that initial meeting in Toronto, they kept in touch through email which progressed into phone conversations and few months later, a visit from Chad. It was at that point when the two of them knew that we wanted to start a relationship. They dated long distance for a year, visiting each other often, before she landed a work opportunity in Seattle. Chad ended up proposing on New Year’s Day at one of our favorite hotels in the Seattle area, Willow’s Lodge."
From the bride... "We had a clear vision for our day – romantic elegance, and I knew that I wanted very soft neutral colors. DeLille Cellars in Redmond, WA was perfect for our vision and it was just the right size for our small guest count of 58. I am all about details and Chad and I put a lot of time and effort into many of the details for our wedding. There were many shopping trips and online purchases to find the right elements for our wedding, but there were also many elements that were we able to do ourselves. In March, we took a drive out to Oak Harbor, WA and we spent the day collecting driftwood on the beach and together we constructed our wedding arbor. I also designed our wedding invitations and stationary and created a chalkboard sign so that our guests knew what the day’s events were and how to get to each one. We also had many guests flying in from out of town, so I created welcome boxes with a few treats and some information about Seattle and had them waiting in each guest's hotel room when they arrived. All in all, we spent eight months planning and preparing for our special day and it was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined."
