Hanging Wedding Decorations - Part 3

Talk about making a statement from floor to ceiling… While a ceiling may not be the first thing in your wedding décor list, it presents a unique blank canvas for you to transform. Like the rest of your venue it can be customized to suit your wedding. Hanging decorations can add light or simply be that perfect addition to create the ambiance you are hoping for. Flowers. Hanging your main décor element, flowers, can take your wedding décor from Blah to Ohh La La. When it comes to flowers, hanging doesn’t have to happen in the entire ceiling– it would be a little (more like very) costly. Instead you can hang some flowers from chandeliers, branches or trees to decorate your ceremony. Or try suspended your centerpieces – they should end above eye level when sitting, to avoid hindering conversation – to create a unique and romantic look at your reception. Candles. You can't bit the feeling of romantic candle light, container ideas are as limited as your imagination: lanterns or votives that match your theme (pic 2, pic 3, pic 4)... pair them with flowers for a more feminine look.

Greenery. If you are aiming for a botanical/ rustic look, then leave out the romantic candles and the femminine candles and hang some greenery at your wedding reception. (image #1 | image #2)

BirdCages. Are you going for the vintage look? Consider birdcages hanging from the trees. (image source)

Other. Branches, paper flowers, Paper Lanterns, crystals... the sky is the limit!

If you are planning on hanging decorations from the ceiling, try staggering how far down the decorations are set up! If they are all the same distance from the ceiling it may end up looking too uniform. Hanging centerpieces look best when you create a focal point of one object repeated throughout the space.
