Chic + Modern Wedding

The second I opened up this wedding the words modern, crisp, clean, and sophisticated started dancing around in my head. OneWest Weddings had planned this fabulous Calgary soiree with contemporary decor and a little nod towards baroque detailing, the result was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. From the Event Designer... "When Christine & Mike approached One West Weddings to do their wedding design and planning, they knew immediately that they would be a great fit for them. Christine shares many of the same design aesthetics as Mary, the President and Lead Designer, does - she likes clean lines and modern decor, with a little nod towards baroque detailing. Symmetry and balance were very important to Christine, so we wanted to ensure that the overall look of the day was very clean and balanced. Christine wanted an all white wedding with just touches of pewter. In order to warm up the palette, beautiful flowing phalaenopsis orchids and hundreds of candles throughout the ceremony cocktail reception and dinner were used. Christine recently graduated as a pastry chef, so we were very excited when she decided to create her own wedding cake. In addition, she took on all of the stationery design, which was a big job, but was done beautifully. 

The ceremony design was romantic and intimate, with a candlelit aisle and a gorgeous canopy created with all white chiffon fabric treatments. Clear lucite pillars were adorned with modern white glass vases filled with white phalaenopsis orchids. A beautiful chandelier hung above the bride and groom as they exchanged their vows. 

The dinner reception was designed to maximize the space and create a visual WOW by utilizing a variety of heights and shapes for the centerpieces. A combination of round and rectangular tables were used, each with a variety of clear ghost chairs or clear chiavari chairs. The lighting was intimate and dramatic, creating the effect of a romantic dinner... for 130."
