Elegant White Christmas Wedding

Are you ready for an infusion of winter beauty in the form of fabulous classic wedding inspiration? Me, too! I think there’s nothing more sophisticated than a black-tie affair, but when you bring bits of the Holidays into the mix the result is just mind-blowing. This clever due took total advantage of the fact that their wedding was just a few short days after Christmas and brought the holidays into their nuptials in the most beautiful and elegant way possible. They called the amazingly talented Kelly Kirkland Photography to captured their big day and she captured this festive affair that embraced the season in a chic and classy way.
Have a Merry Christmas!

From The Bride... "Drew and I met through a mutual friend.  She thought we would be a cute couple.  A group of friends met out on a Friday night after work.  Drew and I began talking and hit it off right away.   It didn’t take long before we both knew we really liked each other!  I actually knew he was the one after the first date :)
Drew and I were going to dinner on a cold February night.  I was running very late to meet him at his apartment.  I finally arrived 45 minutes late and we set off for dinner.  Drew wanted to take a quick detour to go look at one of our favorite beaches in Fairfield to see how the blizzard had affected the beach front.  We parked and Drew came up with the excuse that he needed to check his tire.  He called me over to his side of the car because he thought he had a flat tire.  As I walk around I saw Drew on one knee.
After seeing many options in Connecticut, we knew we wanted a venue that was close to where we both grew up (Guilford and Redding).  We both wanted a Catholic ceremony and loved the church and the priest at St. Mary’s in New Haven.  We also fell in love with the grand ballroom at the Omni Hotel.  The chandeliers and wood paneled walls were breath taking. Having our reception at the hotel made the weekend so convenient for our large number of out of town guests.
Our wedding day was everything we had wanted it to be.  We wanted a day surrounded by family and friends to begin our lives together.   Everything went off without a hitch.  We had a winter wedding in the Northeast and people still came from all over the country to help us celebrate.   We had a perfect sunny day.  We were fortunate to get married in a wonderful church that we were not members of.  It is the second oldest church in Connecticut.   Father Allen welcomed us in and took the time to get to know us.  As a result, our ceremony became very personal and special.  The atmosphere of the church and the Yale campus right after Christmas made our day unique."

Soft and Classic Glamorous Wedding

Elegance in the Details
There are weddings and then there are weddings that blow our minds and this hot little number courtesy of Blaine Siesser Photography is one of those “stop you in your tracks” weddings with details that are too fab to keep to ourselves. For Shainna + John, the details were created with every bit of perfection and are downright charming. Of course, the delicate palette of blush & white complemented the Henry Ford beautifully. From beginning to end, this darling duo emphasized every inch of detail for their nuptials- in fact, they heralded their wedding with a classic letter press invitation embossed with delicate gold scrollwork, but added a fun twist to their rehearsal dinner invite with a blush and gray color scheme and a blocky font paired with delicate script.

The Art of Style
Style is a natural gift that our beautiful brides tend to have. If you're a bride looking for an unconventional twist you might just want to take notes from our gorgeous bride, Shainna who looked stunning in a two piece wedding dress in ivory silk, with a sparkling sweetheart bustier and a gorgeous pick up skirt and accessorized with jewelry that mimicked the crystal chandeliers at Lovett Hall. The men shined with a classic black tie ensemble, which complemented their counterparts outfits very well. The lovely ladies wore a floor -length blush gowns with delicate embellished waistline. The flower girls looked equally charming in dresses embellished with flowers and pomanders of ivory flowers!

From the photographer..."This glam wedding from BLAINE SIESSER PHOTOGRAPHY and The China Closet is a feast for the eyes! Every detail speaks to Shainna and John’s sweet romance and beautiful taste, from the delicate palette of white and blush, to the stunning reception at the Henry Ford. Shainna looked stunning in a two piece wedding dress in ivory silk, with a sparkling sweetheart bustier and a gorgeous pick up skirt. She chose accessories that echoed the sparkle of the crystal chandeliers at LOVETT HALL, from the teardrops on her earrings and the crystals on her shoes – not to mention her stunning pear cut engagement ring! They heralded their wedding with a classic letter press invitation embossed with delicate gold scrollwork, but added a fun twist to their rehearsal dinner invite with a blush and gray color scheme and a blocky font paired with delicate script.
Shainna and John’s wedding festivities started at Saints Peter and Paul Jusuit Church in Detroit. The soaring basilica in the post-classical cathedral could not have been a more perfect place for them to say their vows. Their post-ceremony portraits beautifully captured the elegance of their bridal party – the gentlemen in black tie and the bridesmaids in floor -length blush gowns with delicate bouquets from Bellisario Florist. The flower girls looked equally charming in dresses embellished with flowers and pomanders of ivory flowers! The reception at historic Lovett Hall captured the timeless elegance of their wedding day, with vaulted ceilings and teak floors, crystal chandeliers glittering overhead. Their reception decor tied beautifully in to the colors of the ballroom, with soft ivory linens and florals, with dark Chiavari chairs against the floors. Pale pink roses and strands of blush pearls adorning the layers of their cake added warmth to the soft palette. No matter how gorgeous and sophisticated the wedding, though, there’s nothing like a dance party to help everyone cut loose! The SIMONE VITALE BAND got everyone on the floor in their black tie best!"
